An experiment at DtEC
Hi all,
I’d like your help, dear readers, in an experiment. I’d love to see where we can go if the comments section gets input from a variety of people. So, I’m introducing a little survey. Three easy sections to make DtEC the blog you can’t wait to read. Leave your ideas, thoughts and suggestions on how to style my hair in the comment section on the website at http://www.duetoextenuatingcircumstances.com
Thank you!
- Do you find the column easy to read and navigate? If not, how would you change it?
- What’s your favorite type of content in this blog? What are the things you enjoy the most or like to share with your friends?
- 3. Finally, what kids shows have songs or characters you CANNOT STAND? For me, it’s the Paw Patrol theme. All I hear is PAW patrol! Paw patrol! Something something PUPPIES, PAW patrol! At LEAST we’re not, the fucking Bub-ble GUPPIES!

What’s your favorite type of content in this blog? What are the things you enjoy the most or like to share with your friends? The adoption process you went through is fascinating to me. But pretty much any thing you share about raising a child has such a hilarious twist to it…I love it all.

Honestly…we don’t watch a lot of kid tv, so I don’t know theme songs or characters of many shows. I hear Calliou is horrible and not to watch him. I wasn’t super impressed with Thomas the Train, but I have never shown him to Jonah. So far we watched The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, which isn’t on anymore, Daniels Neighborhood and pixar movies. 🙂 Oh, and Pound Puppies. Jonah didn’t really like seasame street.

Just SAYING the word “Calliou” seems to cause a violent reaction in almost every mom I know! Thanks for the feedback.

Martin Short as the Cat in the Hat. He grates on me. The Cat is a creepy older man who listens in while kids are playing, then puts their own imaginative work to a stop so he can take them from their homes, which their mothers do not give truly informed consent to, to teach them about the world in the most falsely enthusiastic way I’ve ever heard. I think the Cat actually hates himself too and drinks alone at night.

Dinosaur Train. This show takes three things that should be endlessly fascinating to kids – dinosaurs, trains, and freaking TIME TRAVEL – and turns it into the most boring thing I’ve ever seen. “Let’s compare features!” is the only dialogue ever written.

That was FUNNY! You’re right. Man in the Yellow Hat could also be a corporate spy. Or gigalo.
